Sam Patterson originally hails from Hampton, Virginia, and grew up sailing on the Chesapeake Bay before sailing for the University of Virginia in college. He’s spent a significant amount of his sailing career on the Great Lakes and Cleveland, Ohio where he was the inaugural director of The Foundry Community Sailing Center and worked to promote access to the waterfront for all.

Sam lives in the Bridgeport area of Connecticut and can be found racing dinghies or hiking with his dog Stella pretty much any weekend of the year!
